Kaylynn Bright

Brief Bio

Mrs. Bright is the daughter of Mr.  Doss and Mrs.  Jimmie Tidwell.   She is a native of Galveston Island and a graduate of La Marque High School.   She holds a B.A.  degree in English/Journalism from Lamar University (Beaumont, TX) and later obtained an A.A.S.  degree in Audio Visual Production from Texas State Technical College (Waco, TX), where she served as School Ambassador and graduated with a 4.0 GPA.   She has a mass communications background, which includes TV, Radio, Advertising, Newspaper, & Public Relations. 

 

UMC Leader

Mrs.  Bright is former member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church, and her husband’s former churches, St. Mark’s UMC in La Porte and St. James UMC in Houston.   She is a lifelong member of her childhood church, Bell Zion Missionary Baptist Church.  She has served numerous positions in the United Methodist Church, including Spiritual Worship Leader, Lay Leader, and United Methodist Women’s President, to name a few.   On the district level, she has served as Publicity Officer for the Houston East District Clergy Spouses Association.  At Sloan, Mrs.  Bright currently serves as the Public Relations Director and Founder/Editor-in-Chief of The Sloan Memorial Messenger church newsletter. 

 

Mass Communications Professional

Mrs. Bright is currently employed by Clear Channel Radio-Houston as a media marketing executive, with a concentration area on KTRH 740 News Radio.  She has also worked for Clear Channel Radio-Miami, where she was employed as a marketing solution manager.  She has worked as a television news producer at major networks in Houston (including KTRK ABC 13 & KRIV FOX 26), Dallas, and in Miami, FL.  She is the former Founder/CEO of Soul of the Matter Talent Agency & Photography in Houston, TX .  She has worked with countless Christian celebrities across the country as a faith-based publicist under the company name, Illumine Us, (a biblical prayer asking God to shine His light on us).  Mrs. Bright is currently a corporate member of AWRT (American Women in Radio & TV).  She is a lifelong member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and former member of National Association of Black Journalists.

 

Wife & Mother

Mrs.  Bright crossed paths with Rev. Bright for the first time when he walked through the doors of her talent agency to pursue modeling and motivational speaking opportunities, long before becoming a minister.  The two were instantly spiritually connected and remained solely as close friends throughout the years until their marriage on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2002.  The couple’s intimate ceremony included a lavish house wedding and 50 of their closest family members and friends.  They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Bella and Bijou.
